About Us
Hello, I’m Abbey Ryan – a writer, traveler, and longtime foodie with a soft spot for chips and guac. I have traveled to all the 48 states of America and tasted local favorite foods in each one of them. Food runs in my family – my cousin won Hell’s Kitchen in 2016 – but my heart has always belonged to storytelling.
Writing since middle school, and today, I have built a 6-year professional writing career with work featured in The Daily Meal, The Chicago Tribune, Medical News Today, and more.
When I am not writing, you will probably find me on the road in my self-converted Sprinter van – notebook in hand, chasing down stories, sunsets, and the next plate of something delicious.
( Walk-Ons if I am lucky ).

About Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux
Two walk-on players from the LSU basketball team had a dream that their hometown ( Baton Rouge ), needed a new sports bar. But not just any old sports bar. A sports bistreaux where every day is a game day. Where amped up flavors and energy unite to create an atmosphere like no other. Where sports are truly at the heart of all and fans of all ages are always welcome.
We are Walk-On’s. Founded by underdogs in 2003, we have redefined what a sports bar can be and earned tons of fans in our journey. So whether you are here for a bite with friends, staying late to cheer on your team, or dreaming up your big idea over drinks, let’s raise a glass to the fighting spirit that got us started and keeps us at the top of our game over 20 years later.
